The beacon supposedly contained Prothean information on how to stop the Reapers. So I'm inclined to think this is something of a plot hole that the writers thought about how this information would unfold to Shepard, but not about how and why Saren would lead her such a path to follow. So how did Saren know that the Thorian could help him understand the beacon? What did he even need that for, if he already knew he needed to go to Ilos? The beacon shows Ilos, but does it show the Conduit, or what it can do? I didn't think so, but how did Saren know, then?ġ) Saren has an intact beacon on Virmire, so he shouldn't have needed the info from the one on Eden Prime.Ģ) He seeks the Thorian's knowledge about the Protheans, presumably to understand the beacon.ģ) He's looking for the Mu relay that is, he knows he needs to go to Ilos. He needs a back door, and I thought Tali's recording shows that he needs the Conduit.
Apparently, he thinks showing up at their doorstep with a geth fleet won't work. Saren's goal is to get Sovereign to the Citadel, to open the Citadel for the Reapers. So yeah, potentially sabotaging the beacon was not a bad piece of work, but hard to understand as a victory. Remember the Beacon had one other purpose, it was flashing arrow pointing at Ilos. BioWare clearly had a different team and mindset going into this new release, as most of these lesser aesthetics come down to creator choice rather than developmental limitations.Good question. While the trilogy boasts many technical upgrades, some scenes and features don't quite measure up to the originals in terms of looks. The developers took inspiration from the various mods released through the years, giving them a good handle on which improvements players wanted. Aside from the smoother gameplay, the textures and presentation are a sight to behold. Indeed, th e Legendary Edition has improved a lot. Even better, some say that this extensive remaster is now the best way to play these storied titles. Though these sci-fi RPGs originally released from 2007 to 2012, people the world over now have an excuse to play them again. At long last, the Mass Effect Legendary Edition has come out.
